02:28 pm - Let's go out to the lobby.... Last night, I went to see Dark Water with Matt and Katie. I really liked it. It ended on a happier note than The Ring or The Grudge. Yeah, a certain someone died, but the ghost was became benevolent in the end. People survived the movie...unlike in The Grudge. People weren't stuck trying to perpetuate a curse so that they could survive...unlike in The Ring (I don't know what happens in The Ring 2, so nothing from that movie has been taken into account). The ghost in Dark Water could become friendly.
Anyway, we left Dark Water and decided to see War of the Worlds because we had time, we wanted to see it, it was showing in a couple minutes, and we had nothing better to do. I will not say that I did not enjoy War of the Worlds, for I did enjoy it...I laughed a lot. But I really did enjoy it. However, as enjoyable as it was, I don't think I actually liked it...much in the way I enjoy, but don't really like anything by Steven Spielberg. The guy might be great with effects and all (except one, dark, Wonka-esque scene which looked very much like an indoor set from an old sci-fi TV show, even though it was meant to be outdoors), but scenarios and scripts are all kinda cheesy, corny...or something of the like.
So I recommend both movies. Dark Water as something I liked (although Katie and Matt didn't seem to, so you may not want to take my recommendation) and War of the Worlds as something I enjoy. Current Music: Gorillaz - White Light
